A baroness’s extraordinary early years growing up in a stately home are the subject of a new film being shown exclusively at Holkham Hall.
In Lady Glenconner’s Memoir of Holkham, Anne Tennant (Baroness Glenconner) shares her memories in an interview with broadcaster David Whiteley.
In the film, Lady Glenconner, 91, shares memories of her coming-out ball, the surprising origin of the dress she wore, and what her good friend Princess Margaret made of the party.
Mr Whiteley said: "Having interviewed Lady Glenconner on many occasions before, it was really special to capture her memories of growing up on this glorious estate.
“Holkham is a gem on the Norfolk coast and to hear Lady Glenconner's recollections of her time there was a fantastic experience."
Lady Gleconner added: “I relished sharing my memories of Holkham with David.
“I have such a deep-rooted relationship with the estate – from my early days climbing trees in the park to my coming out ball and wedding.

“I do hope everyone who visits the hall enjoys watching the film.”
Lady Glenconner was a regular playmate of the young Princess Elizabeth and Princess Margaret, as Sandringham Estate was so close to Holkham.
She was named 'debutante of the year' by Tatler magazine in 1950 after she was formally presented at court at the age of 18.
She has written a memoir called Lady in Waiting: My Extraordinary Life in the Shadow of the Crown, which became a New York Times bestseller in 2019.
The film is being shown in Holkham’s north state sitting room until October 30 between midday and 5pm. Tickets are included in price of entry to the hall, walled garden and Holkham Stories exhibit, which cost £23 per adult or £8.50 per child.
